Born in 1988, I began my love affair with design in the late 90’s, drawing bedroom and lounge furniture amongst my school work. The support of my educators gave me the opportunity to participated in multiple creative arts projects across Western Sydney from as young as 10 years old. As a teenager, I exhibited at the Sydney Royal Easter Show and various local shows before taking on a casual job as a television extra. At 17 years old, the opportunity arose to travel to Mexico and America, and I had my first experience of culture shock.

At the completion of my Higher School Certificate, I moved to Canberra where I studied a Bachelor of Design Arts at the Australian National University. This allowed me to participate in many collaborative projects with such institutions as the National Gallery of Australia and the National Film and Sound Archive. During my studies at ANU, I developed a strong interest in Life Drawing and a fascination with pin-hole cameras, sculpture, stop motion animation and ideas of illusion.

In 2010, I took some time to explore a more psychological avenue in my life. I spent a year developing an understanding of my own emotional perception of the world, in a sense, growing as a person through supportive criticism of my personal belief systems. This was an incredibly important process as I developed a much more mature individuality and strength as a personality.

In 2011, I enrolled in the University of Tasmania’s Bachelor of Environmental Design and have continued my exploration into furniture design ever since.
