We finally got the last few details cleared on the Greeno project and the production is underway. For a group of uni students it has and will continue to give us all plenty of opportunities for learning and growth.
Our first big production day has already taught me one big lesson: rest. Our lecturers told us this early on. Take breaks if you feel yourself losing focus. We all wanted to keep pushing forward and we found ourselves making stupid mistakes like losing too much material on a piece or feeding timber into a machine the wrong way around. Taking a single break for lunch wasn’t enough. I think one of the best things to do is change positions with someone you are working with. Rotate the team around in order to keep everyone fresh. As soon as we did that, we worked so much more productively and it also meant the others in our group learnt more about the process and the product.
