While considering the joinery for the Greeno project we discovered the use of magnets. Rare earth magnets are powerful permanent magnets made from alloys of rare earth elements. These magnets are powerful enough to lift thousands of times their own weight. Developing a design with built in magnets to connect timber elements to steel framework or components would make the Greeno project much more efficient especially with the elimination of screws and bolts, etc.
